Summertime by Catherine Viann

As a young child Catherine watched with great admiration her Grandmother Ella Fontenot’ paint with a palette knife the beautiful landscapes of Florida and Louisiana and her own garden of flowers. With this early childhood inspiration, she developed a desire to embark on a more contemporary mode of expression with her abstracts in acrylics. The pieces she is currently working on are those of the Seasons and Months of the year. “Summertime” was one of her firsts expressions in this series. It is a lovely blend of colors artistically portraying shoots wildflowers springing up on the sides of lonely highways.
